Bereavement Support

Our school is committed to the emotional health and well-being of its staff and pupils. We wish to work towards this in all aspects of school life, and to provide an ethos, environment and curriculum that prepare pupils for coping with bereavement.

Bereavement, whether it is an expected death because of illness or a sudden and unexpected death or suicide, is something that can impact on members of our school community at any time.

Due to the nature of our pupils’ complex medical and health needs, sadly there are times when children become very ill and pass away. This loss affects the whole school community including pupils, staff and families.

We have a wide selection of resources to support students and staff at Ivy House School, below are some links that might support you and your family during difficult times. Please get in touch with Claire Porter if you require further information or support.
